Turning air-quality readings into sound
Listening to changing conditions
The project addresses the normalisation of air pollution by making environmental conditions audible. Its design uses the Air Quality Index (AQI) and particulate matter readings (PM2.5 and PM10) as inputs for sound synthesis.
A portable interface is being developed for use in different urban locations. Planned participatory sessions will invite people to create sound maps and contribute their own voices.
